This beautiful soft vintage cotton scarf displays the amazing needle skills of kantha that transform well-worn saris into the new, practical and chic. Hand rolled clay beads that are then wrapped in sari scraps lend a whimsical trim to the edges of this delicately hand-stitched fabric.

Sari is an ancient garment, traced back to 2,000 BC and is the ultimate in recycling. Its 6 yards, 2.3 metres, fits any size and so these stunning textiles are often enjoyed for generations. Ultimately they’re stitched, with all their stories, into family quilts called kantha.
